Edo Poly, Usen hosts NBTE team for institutional, programme accreditation

The Management of Edo State Polytechnic, Usen, has received a team from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for institutional and academic programme accreditation.  

When speaking to the NBTE accreditation team at the Polytechnic chambers, Acting Rector of the Polytechnic Engr. Sylvester Omoruyi thanked Governor Godwin Obaseki for his support and dedication to ensuring the institution’s stabilization and the accreditation of its academic programs at the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels.

Engr. Omoruyi also mentioned that the institution’s management prioritizes the accreditation of its academic programs and has taken the necessary steps to meet the NBTE’s requirements for institutional accreditation and other programs scheduled for accreditation by purchasing all necessary equipment and upgrading the facility.

Dr. Musa Hatim Koko, the accreditation team’s head and the NBTE Zonal Director for the South-South, acknowledged the impressive advancements made at the Polytechnic during their previous visit.

He mentioned that the visiting team, which would evaluate the facilities for the programs scheduled for accreditation, consists of NBTE officials and specialists in academic and vocational subjects recruited from various institutions.

He mentioned the three stages of the accreditation process, which are resource visitation, resource accreditation, and institution accreditation. National Diploma Programs in Welding and Fabrication, Computer Engineering Technology, Estate Management, Surveying and Geo-Informatics, and Urban and Regional Planning are among the departments slated for certification.

The accreditation process will take place from Monday, January 9, through Friday, January 13, 2023.
