Obaseki, Obasanjo, others extol legacy of late Abebe

Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, have extolled the virtues of late Dr. Christopher Abebe.

Obaseki led other state government officials to Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area, Edo State, for the burial mass officiated by the President of the Catholic Bishops Conference and Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Benin, Augustine Akubeze.

The governor extolled the virtues of late Dr. Abebe, noting that late Dr. Abebe lived a model Christian life.

Dr. Abebe, who died at the age of 99, was at various times the first Nigerian Chairman/ Managing Director of the United African Company Nigeria Limited, and first Nigerian Chairman of the Nigerian Breweries. He also served at various times as the pro-chancellor of the University of Benin, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and the University of Calabar.
