The Honourable Commissioner for Education Edo State, Dr. Christopher Adesotu felicitates with staff and students on a successful new year celebration., wishing all a prosperous new year in their pursuit and sacrifice for their fatherland.
Adesotu while speaking on the backdrop of school resumption for the new year, congratulated staff and students in Edo state, both private and public sectors across all levels from kindergarten to university education for the joyous opportunity to be part of 2018. He said this requires gratitude to God, and a re-dedication to duty to our fatherland., our personal growth and a better Society at large.
Following the wishes of joy and good tidings, the hench man of Educational Administration in Edo State stressed on commitment of teaching and non teaching staff to their responsibilities. He urged all to see it as a God given assignment that requires sacrifice for the betterment of our children, wards and the generality of our societal interest. He encouraged them to look beyond the pay and conditions of service as human wants are insatiable.
On the part of the students, Adesotu admonished seriousness on part of pupils, students and parents, as teachers and government alone cannot bring about the desired change. He said, “we must all put heads together, and align ourselves with the principles of collective parenting to succeed with the Nigerian child”.
The Commissioner pleaded with all and sundry to contribute their quota towards correcting the ills of education in the state and laying a solid foundation that can compete favorably with other States in Nigeria and the world at large, as there is no better time to unite for the good of future generations than now.
