
In an effort to address the state’s lack of petroleum supplies and arbitrary pricing, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, governor of Edo State, has given his approval to the committee’s constitution.
Osarodion Ogie Esq., the secretary to the Edo State Government, stated in a statement that the committee is made up of representatives from a number of organizations, including the “Commissioner for Mining and Energy, Civil Society Organizations, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN), Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, and Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas.”
Others are the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), the Edo State Public Works Volunteers (PUWOV), the Edo Security Network (Vigilantes), the Public Service Joint Negotiating Council, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), and HOSTCOM.
He continued, the Committee is tasked with ensuring synergy among pertinent parties to achieve speedy and lasting resolution to the challenges that remain for the benefit of the majority of the population.
