Today, I received the news of the transition of one of our leaders, Alhaji Usman Shagadi as a rude shock. The man we admiringly called SHAGAMOKO was a highly committed, trusted and dependable party man who does not keep you guesing as to where he belongs in politics. He does not double deal but consistently consistent and forthright in all his dealings.
No doubt, our party, the APC has lost a major pillar of support in Edo North and indeed Edo State. A committed Muslim and a workaholic, a political bridge builder with a formidable network of friends cutting across religion, tribal and ethnic boundaries in the State. Alhaji Shagadi spent the larger part of his adult life playing politics of development with a major purpose of touching lives of the common man.
Sadly, Shagadi left us when we needed him most as we enter the crucial stage of our tenure in office. But who are we to query the Almighty God who giveth and taketh? All we owe him now is prayers for the Lord to accept his soul in His bosom.
