Facing the greatest fall of his career, the kingpin of Kwara political fraud is dangerously setting out for the next general election. At the airport, on his way to Abuja when he was confronted with the question of how they are going to survive the O TO GE revolution, his response was simple; ” I will teach them politics”.
What does Saraki understand as politics? Politics to Saraki is capturing of power through rigging, fraud and manipulations. APC in Kwara needs to be careful and provide necessary anti-rigging strategy to defeat Saraki. Saraki is a deadly politician whose entire political philosophies of governance revolves round looting and stealing. Taking power from him will be like daring an hungry lion.
PDP in the last couple of weeks has been trying to get into each polling unit to buy voters card so as to neutralise APC influence in some areas. APC’s great areas of influence has been identified by Saraki’s researchers and they move in there with money to pay for PVC with 10k each.
The second strategy is to go from polling unit to polling unit with the voters’ register to count out their supporters and mark out the likely threat. It’s like counting the chickens before they are hatched. Trying to lobby the possible threat and also consolidate those who they have bought already.
The final game is that PDP is registering 20 members from each polling unit to act as polling agents for 20 different political parties. The passport photographs and the account numbers of fake polling party agents have been collected already. What this 2O fake agents will do is to initiate rigging process at the polling units, cause chaos when necessary and generate fake results to discredit INEC. Just think about 20 party agents refusing to sign score sheet after a free and fair credible election!
INEC must be watchful and careful to scale through Saraki’s political desperation. There’s a great task ahead, INEC must be vigilant and ensure there is absolute security in all the polling units. Any political party without candidate for the election has no reason presenting an agent and anybody disguising as an agent must be arrested and punished.
APC leaders in the state should be bold to tame the lion. Relying on masses support may not be enough. Saraki has stolen several mandates before and we can be victim again if we sleep. Don’t forget he said he will teach us politics. I just hope we wouldn’t learn the hard way.
