THE Coalition of Registered Political Parties in Imo State has raised an alarm over alleged plot by the Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha to rig the forthcoming governorship election in the state using the state Commissioner of Police, Dazuki Galadanchi.
The coalition also raised an alarm that agents of the state government in collaboration with security agents yesterday took over the premises of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), where INEC election materials deployed to the state are kept with out the presence of other political parties.
Addressing journalists yesterday, Dr Theo Ezeala, Imo State Chairman of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), who spoke on behalf of other political parties, also alleged that cultists have been trained to be used as polling agents by the state Government in collaboration with the Action Alliance.
“Their plan is to use the policemen being deployed at strategic places by the state Police Commissioner with a view to impose all AA candidates across the state. Worst is that with the supervision of the Nigeria police, other political parties were not allowed to witness the materials deployed to the state. Only governor Okorocha and his son inlaw received the materials.

“We are calling for the immediate removal of the CP in the state so as to give all parties a level playing field. We are calling on the Federal government to avoid bloodbath in Imo State by ensuring that no tool is given to the governor and his son inlaw to rig themselves back into office.
“The plot of the state government is to use securiry to unleash mayhem on areas they feel the opposition has greater votes. Imo people are ready for this election and any attempt to rig by the state government will be resisted. The CP has sent the names of officers to be used for the dirty job to the Governor of Imo State. We are calling on relevant authorities to wade in to avoid crisis in Imo State” he stated.
