OWERRI:GOVERNORSHIP candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, yesterday unveiled his manifesto to the people of the state and vowed to recover all lands and funds illegally appropriated by Governor Rochas Okorocha led administration and his family and hand over to the people.
The APC candidate also raised ana alarn over alleged plot by governor Okorocha to “rig his son inlaw Uche Nwosu who is in the AA into office so he can cover his looting”,asserting however that, ” if he (Rochas) tries it, he will meet his waterloo in the hands of Imo people”.
He lamented that the governor Okorocha led administration had plundged the state into indebtedness of over N290 billion since he assumed office and hinted his desire to probe the huge indebtedness if voted into office.
The well attended event was graced by Traditional rulers from the state led by Eze Cletus Ilomuanya, the Chairman Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers and chairman, Sounth East Council of Traditional Rulers, Imo state Elders Council, representatives of the NUT, NLC, TUC, students, artisans, youths and market women.
Senator Uzodinma, who unveiled a 5-point Blueprint tagged the “New Imo Agenda”, said his 5-point agenda will be anchored on the tripod vision of Recovery, Reconstruction and rehabilitation.
His words: ” Our people in Imo don’t cry anymore, light has come. This is a battle between light and darkness and light has come, darkness has disappeared. I want to tell all our people whose lands and property were illegally collected by this wicked administration of governor Rochas not to cry anymore.
” We will recover all stolen assets and give back to you. We will recover all properties illegally collected by Rochas and his family and give back to our people. Rochas is playing god but God has abandoned him due to his wickedness against the people of Imo state.
“We have been told how he intends to rig the election and install his son in-law, by buying votes, intimidation of civil servants and several other desperate means. But i can assure Imo people, cast your votes on the day of election and it will be protected.
“Rochas and his cohorts will not get home if they try to rig. Imo people must be freed, we are not fools. We all heard how he declared at the stadium that he will not support APC due to his desperation to plant his son in-law, bringing the name of the party and that of Mr President who is the leader of APC to ridicle. But he will fail because Imo people has spoken loud and clear.
He assured further that our ” civil servants will be paid every 24th of the month. My administration will pay all pensioners in the first six months. This wickedness against those who laboured must stop.”Let us all come out to vote President Muhammadu Buhari on the 16th of February. Victory for Mr President will guarantee an Igbo President in 2023. Do not be intimidated my Comrades, victory has come and i can assure you Imo state shall be great again” he stated.
