The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has expressed his condolences to the government and people of Benue State as well as the family of the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu, over the passing of the former CJN.
In a statement, Obaseki said that late Justice Katsina-Alu contributed immensely to Nigeria’s growth and the development of the Judiciary.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Justice Katsina-Alu, former CJN, who served Nigeria meritoriously and bequeathed a vibrant judiciary to us. My condolences go to the Benue State Government and people, the Judiciary, Tse Alu community in Benue State, as well as the late CJN’s family.”
He added that Nigeria would miss the wisdom and wealth of experience of the late CJN, noting, “We are left with the consolation that he served Nigeria creditably.”
Obaseki described his death as a huge, irreplaceable loss to Nigeria.
Late Justice Katsina-Alu, was CJN from 2009 to 2011 and hailed from Tse Alu, Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State.
His death was announced on Wednesday.
