The Edo State House of Assembly has today confirmed Barr Omoua Alonge Oni-Okpaku as commissioner in the state.
The Speaker, Rt Hon Kabiru Adjoto had on Wednesday, 22nd May, 2018 announced the receipt of a letter from the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Godwin Obaseki, requesting for the confirmation of the nominee as commissioner in Edo State. The Speaker thereafter referred same to the House Standing Committee on Rules,Business and Government House for necessary legislative action
Presenting the report at today’s plenary, the chairman of the committee and Majority Leader, Hon Asoro Roland, said the nominee was adequately qualified to be appointed as commissioner in the state
The Majority Leader thereafter presented the report to the House for consideration.
The House consequently adopted the report of the committee and confirmed the nominee as commissioner.
Barrister Omoua Alonge Oni-Okpaku hails from Eme-Ora in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State and was born on the 5th of November, 1976.
She holds a Bachelor Degree in Law (LL.B) from the University of Maiduguri in 1999 and a B.L from the Nigerian Law School in 2001; A postgraduate Certificate in Negotiations and Deals Processing from Harvard Business School, U.S.A and a master degree in Law (LL.M) from the University of Lagos.
She is currently with the World Bank/DfiD Consultancy, National Inland Waterways Authority under the Federal Ministry of Transport.
