The National leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has again reaffirmed that Comrade Simon Ebegbulem and Patrick Ochoga remain the only recognised Chairman and Secretary of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Edo State Council of the Union.
In a letter addressed and signed by the Senior Assistant National Secretary of NUJ, Gbemiga Bamidele to the State Chairman of the NUJ, Comrade Roland Osakwe and copied to the Vice President Zone (F), Chairman/Secretary of Correspondents’ Chapel, with reference No: NUJ/NS/SC/64/VOL VII1/1/2/18, the union directed the State Chairman to “ensure that all Union affairs are channelled to the Chapel through the above mentioned, unless otherwise directed.”
Meanwhile, the Correspondents’ Chapel at its congress held Tuesday, February 13, 2018, and presided over by the Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Simon Ebegbulem, unanimously endorsed the indefinite suspension of eight [8] members of the Chapel for anti-union activities which include impersonation, extortion, and dragging the name of the Chapel to disrepute and several others.

[4] Idris Momoh (Business Day)
[5] Ofure Osehobo (Defunct News World)
[6] Ralph Okhiria (Defunct New Nigeria)
[7] Titus Akhigbe (Defunct Insider Weekly Magazine)
[8] Patrick Ahanor [Blue Print Newspaper].
The Congress also urged the general public, organizations and individuals to take note.
