The attention of the leadership of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) have been drawn to letters being distributed by some impostors claiming to be acting chairman and acting secretary of the chapel.
We are also aware that the same impostors have sent out invitation cards to well meaning individuals to sponsor and attend a public lecture series scheduled for Monday February 12, 2018.
This clarification becomes necessary to avoid the impostors led by one Mrs Nefisatu Yakubu and Osaigbovo Iguobaro to dupe the general public in the name if sponsoring the Correspondent chapel lecture series.
We urge individuals and cooperate organizations to disregard letters signed by the said Nefisatu and Osaigbovo as they are not members of the Executive of the chapel.
There is no crisis in the Correspondent chapel and the recognized Executive is led by Comrade Simon Ebegbulem of Vanguard.The leadership of the chapel is intact and at no time were the impostors asked to act on behalf of the chapel. We urge security agencies and the general public to please take note.
