Governor Godwin Obaseki has assured of his readiness to role out plans and ideals to backup efforts of the Nigerian police to tackle all security challenges in the State.
The Governor disclosed this today in benin city when he received the new commissioner of police Babatunde Johnson Kokumo in Government House.
Receiving the new commissioner of police Governor obaseki said he believes Babatunde Kokumo has the good track record for combating crime from other states faced with similar situation in time past and enjoined him to bring into the state ,his well of experience to address the security challenges in the state in recent times.
Governor Obaseki promised the new CP of the State government support and assistance required to go about the task before him.
He also revealed that the State government already had in place plans and ideals on strengthening community policing which Will be rolled out in a couple of weeks to reduce crime in the State.
Responding,the new CP Babatunde Johnson Kokumo appeciated the Governor for the reception adding that Edo remains a top priority in the nation’s development.
Cp. Babatunde assured that all issues as regarding criminality will be a thing of the past with his inception and warned all criminAls to beware as Edo will no longer be a safe haven for criminAls to breed.
